In 2005 I joined Le Bistrot Pierre as a waitress. After college I started working in bars and gained quite a bit of experience in the hospitality industry. I was first attracted to Le Bistrot Pierre as my partner was already working here and I knew a little bit about the company; but I had also enjoyed the experience as a customer a few times and felt I wanted to be part of it.
My career with the company has enabled me to work in a number of different locations and some great places. I have been a Shift Leader, Assistant Manager and a General Manager. I also had a year out to go travelling and more recently taken time out to have a family. After each occasion I have had no hesitation in returning to Le Bistrot Pierre and found them to be very supportive. At the moment I am able to work close to home, in a great job which suits my personal life as well.
My husband works for the company as an Area Development Chef and we are now settled in Leicester and it’s an easy commute for me to the restaurant. We have a young daughter and she likes to keep us both very busy outside of work.
I feel I have had the opportunity to develop my skills throughout my career both on and off the job; and been really supported by the company. I have completed the first of the Tricolore courses which I found to be really good and do hope to go on the others in the future.
In the ten years I have worked for the company I believe what attracted me in the first place is still true today. It’s a family environment, everyone is friendly and we all work together as a team. I believe our restaurant is one of the best in Leicester; we have a reputation for serving fresh food in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
